Why Toner Pads?

Toner pads are a MUST when it comes to improving your skin texture. Gone are the days of Strident (anyone old like me to remember this? Just mentioning the name reminds me of the alcohol smell). Toner pads are great for the following reason:

  • Hydration Boost: Toner pads are often soaked in hydrating ingredients that will help quench your skin.

  • Physical Exfoliation: The physical nature of the toner pads helps give your skin a gentle exfoliation and helps remove any oil or makeup that you may have missed from your routine cleansing.

  • Chemical Exfoliation: Some toner pads include BHA (aka Salicylic Acid). This chemical exfoliant acid clears blackheads, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improves overall skin texture.

  • pH Balancing: Many toners are soaked in pH balancing toners and ingredients. Using toners regularly helps skin gain its ideal pH balance (between 5 and 7), helping your skin become less sensitive to environmental threats and build up its skin barrier.

Basically, start adding toner pads to your regular skincare routine. I recommend using it 2x a week, either AM or PM. Don’t over do it. I use it in place of a toner on days my skin looks extra tired, flakey, or just not smooth.

Favorite Korean Toners:

  • Luvum Toner Pad: Super popular toner pad in Korea. Got it from Olive & Young this summer. I like that the pads have a good thickness and it’s super packed with hydrating ingredients. Like it feels JUICY. My only complaint about it is that it’s a bit hard to separate the pads from each other.

  • COSRX BHA Toner Pad: I love this one. Just ran out of it and will be getting more. The pads are a little thinner than Luvum, but I like that it has BHA. Basically gives you the physical and chemical exfoliation. I also like where the tongs are placed.

  • Goodal Green Tangerine Vitamin C Toner Pad: Love. Feels so refreshing to use this. Also jam packed with hydration and vitamin C. I love this when I’m traveling and don’t want to bother bringing toner and vitamin C. A great three-in-one combo of toner, exfoliation, and vitamin C for that brightening effect.

There are so many other great toner pads from Korea. One brand I am eyeing in particular is the Mediheal toner pads but they have a gazillion types / colors so I don’t even know where to start. Do you use toner pads? Do you have any questions? Let me know. You can also watch my reel about toner pads.

Love you Ummas,
